Introduction to 5S® VoIP Phone ServiceUpdated 10 months ago

VoIP is an important component of the 5S® platform, offering state of the art connectivity with complete customization. You control whether to keep it basic or configure it with additional complexity to match your specific call routing needs.

Powerful features of the platform include:

  • Full control through your authenticated web portal login
  • Unlimited local and long distance calling in the continental US, Canada, and Hawaii
  • Flexible 10-digit numbering - bring your existing phone numbers, or use new numbers. We provide local phone numbers in most areas in the United States.
  • Voicemail - Associate a voice mailbox with an extension or use an announce-only voice mailbox to provide customers with a prerecorded message when they choose an option throughan Auto Attendant or extension.
  • Voicemail to e-mail (.mp3/.wav) - After a voicemail is received, the platform will send an e-mail to the address you specify in your portal configuration. The message will include the date and time of the call, the duration, Caller ID (if provided), the mailbox number, and an attached file you can save or play on your devices. You can also set up auto-delete for voicemail messages after a configurable time, or as soon as they are e-mailed.
  • Caller ID - customize the appearance of your outgoing Caller ID by outgoing number or extension.
  • Call Forwarding - Forward calls via the portal or via your device or softphone. Calls may be forwarded to any extension or phone number. Note: device or softphone forwarding functionality may vary by manufacturer.
  • Busy Call Forwarding - Automatically forwards your calls to an extension, group, or phone number when your phone is busy
  • Call Hold and Music on Hold - Place calls on hold and play music or a commercial while the caller waits. Upload custom music files, or use our default music. Additionally, you have the option to upload multiple commercials, and playback can be based on location or call queue.
  • Call Park - Unlike a call placed on hold, a parked call may be picked up at another extension.
  • Extension dialing - abbreviated-digit dialing between extensions in your domain
  • Ring your cell phone simultaneously - set up your cell phone to ring when inbound calls come into your extension.
  • Auto Attendant - expert call routing and call menus  (i.e. "press 1 for Sales")
  • Toll Free Numbers - Utilize one or multiple toll-free numbers which may be routed to a specific outside DID, Auto Attendant, group, or queue.
  • E911 Support - Every location and phone number where you utilize a device or softphone must have an associated E911 entry in the portal. The phone number associated with your location is then registered with the national E911 database. You are also responsible for updating this information if you move any device to a new location.
  • International Termination - Competitive international rates. Just contact us for more details. 
  • Reporting - in the portal, view call detail records, calls by extension, and call volume graphs.
  • Call Recording - Selectively record calls for training or documentation purposes. Note: requires a dedicated server in the cloud. Additional fees apply for this feature.
  • Voicemail Transcription - voicemail is transcribed into text and e-mailed to the address you configure in the portal. Additional fees apply for this feature.
